Manually install Windows Update files

Hi

Does anyone know how to install Windows Updates manually?

I have updated a Win2K machine using Windows Update. All the updates have been downloaded (11.5MB), but the installation extended to over 4 hours and seemed to freeze. I ran WU again, and the files that had been downloaded were quickly identified, but the installation procedure crawled along. What I would like to know is can these files be installed manually, especially as they exist on the hard drive.
