I installed PWS from my Win98SE CD and it runs. However, there are lots of problems:
1. It is incredibly slow. The Help takes more than 15 minutes to come up if it does. Usually, PWS dies.
2. The Publish menu makes no sense and is incredibly slow to open folders. The Add window does not show any files but if I try to add one, it says the file already exists. What do you do after adding files? I don’t see any other menu options to continue the publishing. All that is there is to Add/Removefiles.
3. The MSDN has dozens of articles about PWS such as the PWS icon should appear in the Control Panel, the Network menu and in Add/Remove programs. I don’t have any of these and yet PWS does start up.
4. I have a working program that runs on my local PC in PWS but the Web Publishing Wizard refuses to publish to a real hosting site. I get errors like “Cannot automatically find a connection method” or “Header cannot be found”
Can anyone provide some helpful instructions?
