Mapped drives not disconnecting

Windows 2000 client will not release mapped drives. When trying to map a clients drive with their Id and [password “access is denied”,my own ID and password a conflict exists telling me that the drive is already mapped. The drive is not listed inthe registry under hkey_current-user\network. I cannot remember the net use command any ideas??
