Mapping drives over VPN

We have just deployed some VPN software for remote users. However once connected to the coporate network a user can’t map the same network drives as she has when she is in plant. I sent her the logon batch file but she still gets an error that the “Computer name is not recognized on the network” or something to that effect. I assume this means since her computer in not in the server manager when the script runs it doesn’t recognize it. Can anyone help with this? We are running Windows NT 4.0
