Matsushita UJDA 710 Combo DVD/CDRW Drive

I got thie combo drive in a Toshiba Satelite laptop, but the unit doesn’t read any blank this, so I can’t rewrite in it. A web search so far has not clear answer to this problem.
Any comments?? Windows XP
