mdm.exe

i found a program of mdm.exe in the winnt\system32 folder. what does this machine do?
since my server(win 2k advanced server) communicate with another server with large mount of data which is unusable. i dount mdm.exe is a troj tool which is metioned in Trend site. Also this server ‘s antivirus software can’t detect any virus on it.

help!
