memory

i have 2 128k memory in my machine but it looks like when i veiw my system info, it reads that i have only 64k of memory.my problem is when gaming or just surfing my pc tends to either dump out or i get an error message that it cannot read the allocated memory.what causes this and why does it happen? all answers are greatly appreciated.
