Memory Failure???

by traderearl . Updated 18 years, 11 months ago

I just recently upgraded the memory on my pentium 4 1.5 gig computer to 1gig of ram. I purchased 2 WINTEC AMPO 512MB 168-Pin SDRAM PC 133 Desktop Memory Model 3AMSD133-512M-R. The computer did a little better for about a month, recently the computer started having issues where it would just restart for no reason. The windows error reporting says two different things, either a driver conflict (which I don’t see in system manager) or memory issues. I downloaded the microsoft memory tester and it showed no errors. When I ran the extended test it ran so slow that it only got to 9 out of 17 tests.

Upon on restart the following error message occured before windows booted.

Amount of system memory has changed. Memory write/read failure at 00D80004, read C7D837D8 expecting 37D837D8 memory address line failure at 003000C read 00CCCCCC expecting CCCCCCCC Decreasing available memory

I purchased the memory from newegg on 4/17 is it bad?

Thanks
