My original question was as follows (see afterward for an additional question):
Messenger Application in XP…
When I shut down XP I get a pop-up that notifies me that MsgApp is not responding and will itself be shut down after a few moments (graphically shown with a progress bar)… or, I can “end it now” by clinking the END button.
What in the world is the Messenger Application application?
How can I either re-install it so it works the way it’s supposed to, or disable it totally?
I received a quick answer (thanks!!!) to shut down or uninstall “Instant Messenger”. I’m not completely convinced that I’m dealing with the Instant Messenger. Is that application also called by the nane I referred to above – “Messenger Application”, or MsgApp. I have a sense that I’m referring to a Mindows XP ap’ and not the ap’ that interacts with IE.6. Right? Wrong?
