Messenger on a Mac

I’ve just downloaded Messenger 3.5.1 but
cannot get it to work. When I try to log on, the
following message appears :-

“Sign in failed because Messenger cannot
verify the Certificate. Please make sure that
the current date is set correctly on your
computer in the Date and Time panel in
System Preferences”.

These are set correctly ! What do I do next ?
