Microphone Problems with Vista

The problem I have is talking on MSN. My friend has Vista and the same microphone as I do. It is like it is picking up the sound and recording it and sending it back. I can’t find the noise suppression on vista or on the control panel for the sound card.

Could it be the microphone being a cheaper one or is it a Vista issue?
