Microsoft Netmeeting Freezes Up

I have a generic Win98se computer(relatively new) with a decent amount of applications on it. When I install MS Netmeeting either from a lgitec disk(version 2.1) or off Microsoft Website(version3.0) it installs fine. I can execute the program, get through the sound test and recording device test, then the very next window I click finish and it locks the computer up. It freezes in the exact same spot every time. It happens no matter what version or source of the program. I wonder if it might be a sound card issue. The sound card seems to work normally, but when we go on certain websites with sound the computer freezes. I updated the driver and it seemed ok for a day(as far as websites, not netmeeting), then probs. again. PLEASE HELP.
