I have installed a second parrallel lpt port on a Compaq Deskpro 800 running Windows 2000 Pro with service pack 3. 2000 Pro finds the device fine and installs the latest drivers Ok and will even print to the printer (lpt2)with out any problems, but as soon as the PC is re-booted a device appears in the device manager uder unknown devices called Microsoft Raw Port and the printer on lpt2 stops responding. I have installed the latest drivers for both the printer and the lpt card but still get theproblem on re-boot.If I run the devcon.exe in a batch script which deletes the Microsoft Raw Port each time on start up the printer works fine but this solution seems a bit too messy. I am thinking it could be to do with SP3 has anyone else had thisproblem?
