Hi,We have an NT4 (sp6a) server with IIS4 which runs our FTP site. This FTP site has a large number of folders for different customers and staff. Each of these folders has specific permissions assigned for security.
We are needing to upgrade the hardware on this server, and it means getting a completely different set of hardware items. In addition, we want to make some adjustments in the OS. The OS is on cdrive, the FTP folders are on ddrive.
My question, is there a simple method of copying or restoring, the FTP folders to the new server, AND MAINTAIN all the folder permissions? Having to re-assign all the current permissions would be a major problem. There is no question or problem of the ‘data’, our only question is that we want to maintain the folder permissions when they are moved / copied to the new system.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
