Minolta QMS Majic Color 2

A friend has a Minolta QMS Majic Color 2 printer. He is using a new Dell with Windows 2000 Pro for the operating system. He has installed printer drivers from the Minolta web site, but when he tries to print a test page the job goes to the que, and then nothing happens. The print job is deleted from the que. What could be causing this? All other items are OK printer is on, paper installed, LPT1 has no conflicts, printer cable is new.
