Missing or Corrupt File

MS says that the error message “Windows 2000 could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt. \system32ntoskrnl.exe” means:

“This error message usually indicates your system does not include a kernel, or the bootdrive contains one or more driver versions that are not the correct version for your run-time image.”

There resolution is:

1. Be sure you copied Boot.ini, Ntdetect.com and ntldr from your run-time image to the root directory of your target system’s boot drive, overwriting prior versions of these files.

2. Be sure you added a kernel into your configuration. Examples of kernel components include Ntoskrnl.exe, Ntkrnlmp.exe, and Ntkrnlpa.exe.

My questions are: How do you copy the file from the run-time image? And, what do they mean by “added a kernel into your configuration.” Where would I find them?
