missing or corrupt win2k files

i have win2k pro, when i boot it says
“the following file is missing or corrupt; \WINNT\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEMced”
i attempt to repair by using the original setup on CD and select “r” @ the first screen to start the repair. i did this about 5 or 6 times but still was unable to boot. what can i do to boot win2k?
