I had an HDD failure on an NT 4.0 server boot disk. After the HW vendor sent a replacement drive (waranty), I reloaded the op system and my 3rd party backup client (Retrospect), then restored the system from my recent backup. The restore seems to beok, all the files, directories and even the shares show up fine. But in Windows Explorer the ‘Size’ column does not show up. If I use the properties dialog on any file it shows the file’s size just fine. The machine as backed up was a PDC on SP5, when I reloaded the op system on the new drive I set it up again as PDC and I applied SP6 before doing the volume restore. After several back and forth emails with the backup SW vendor, they suggested I contact Microsoft. Has anyone seen a similar situation where the size column just doesn’t show up in Win Explorer? I tried changing options there but none resolve the size column not showing up.
Thanks for any help,
Mike
