Modem not detected by WIN98 no responce

I have a US.Robottics sportster x2 winmodem voice, WIN98 cannot detect this kind, so i got the driver and when installed still no response from the modem, when i try to connect a MessageBox saying that the modem wasn’t detected or that the modem isn’t responding. Thank you
