Modems Problems

I am setting up W2K Server on a computer that already has Win98 SE installed. I can’t make both recognize my modem. The modem is a Archteck with TI chipset. I have the most recent drivers for 98 and 2k… 98 recognizes it fine but under W2k whenI try to access it through DUN it says “your modem has hardware error” — 962(i think). Device manager shows no problems at all. If anyone can help me to figure this out it would be a great help… thank you in advance.
