Monitor

Last week I bought a new PC but kept my old monitor as it was a 21″ suitable for CAD work. Today the monitor stopped working – screen picture shrank then there was a funny noise and a burning smell. I think the tube blew? Was this a coincidence or could the new PC have caused this? The new PC has an ATI saphire Radeon graphics card.
