Motherboard Problem Long Beep

by may_day . Updated 22 years, 7 months ago

My problem: I forgot the password i set in system setup in the bios so i went on to read the manual of the motherboard to find out how to short the pins so that the password will be reset. Upon carefully reading the manual I short pins 2 & 3 for a few seconds to clear cmos, of course the power to mainboard is not connected as instructed in the manual. After that I plugged the power to the mainboard and tried to switched on my pc only to my suprise it wont show anything on the screen or boot-up, i only hear a long beep then the system will shut off the power.

By the way i have an AMD Duron 750, 128 RAM, geforce2 mx/mx400 video card, cnet pro200 PCI Lan Card, Built-in sound card AC’97 and Award BIOS.

I tried switching memory with a known good one several times already but the problem is still the same. My Motherboard is: ECS EliteGroup (K7VZA Ver 3.2e)

Please help me 🙁

thank you very much
