Motherboard weidness

by dghaus . Updated 20 years, 11 months ago

I have an S661FXm-US motherboard with the latest bios update. Intel P4 3.01. I’m running XP Pro with SP2. My computer is home built and was working fine until recently. If I unplug the power cord to move it, there is no video signal after I re-power it. I have changed the ram, the hard drive, updated the bios, swapped power supplies, even changed motherboards. The only thing I haven’t done is change the cpu. The only way to get it back up and running is to unplug the power cables from the motherboard, wait 10 minutes or so and plug them back in. Since the cpu is the only thing I haven’t changed I suspect thats what it is, unless somebody has other ideas for me as I don’t have a spare cpu nor do I want to buy one and then find out thats not the problem.

Thoughts?

Thanks, Darryl
