We have a SocketA M810 series with AMD 750 with 512MB machine running WinME on our router driven small office network. Out of the blue the PS2 mouse inexplicably stopped working completely. Several mice known to be good were tried – no difference.
I tried installing a genuine serial mouse – windows can’t find it. Even after loading serial drivers – it thinks its a ps2
I tried a usb mouse – windows can’t find it. No drivers load
I tried starting up from a floppy at this point and found that the winme CDrom couldn’t be accessed (to make sure I had all the drivers needed). The drive was registered but it wouldn’t read. After booting from the hard drive the CDrom is the same. It registers but won’t read data. Without a mouse working its hard to diagnose the drive. Any ideas out there??
