Mouse locks the computer

I am working on a PII 233. I have givin it a fresh load of windows 98, and windows 95. Once it has loaded, the mouse will ramdomly freeze the computer. I have no choice but to hard boot it. It will always freeze within 2-3 mins of the computer beingbooted up.
