mouse-recognition fail on p60-boards

i have huge troubles with the recognition of a serial mouse(or different ones) on 3 (2 are identical) pentium 60-boards. one board was working and i do not know what is wrong. the boards are outside the cases. i doubt that this fact could cause the problem, that the cables of the case are needed.
