Mouse Shadow / Transistion Effects

I’m after a way to automatically disable the mouse shadow in Windows 2000, and also to disable the Menu Transition effects in Windows 2000.

Any automated method (I’ve tried Reg pokes to no avail! – doesn’t always work), scripting etc etc.
