Move DC to another domain

I made the mistake of letting certain resources on my test W2K Domain go public before the “real” domain was implemented. Users have now become dependent upon these resources. The new “real” domain is now ready and the migrating of clients about to begin.

My question is, can I somehow move this “test” DC into the “real” domain so that certain configurations and settings can be maintained?

I am afraid that dcpromo will erase many of the custom configurations I worked so hard to create.
