Move servers to another domain

I have an Exchange 5.5 member server and a PDC in one domain that I would like to add to another domain. I’m sure the PDC will need to be reloaded but what about Exchange. Can I put it in a workgroup and then join the other domain and how will this affect Exchange 5.5? Thanks
