Moving a Global Catalog

I’m running two Win2K DC’s, one PDC and the other is the BDC. My PDC is old and not working good. Is there anything special I need to do to make the BDC the PDC. I know I have to make it a global catalog but will it atomatically become the PDC ifI take the old one offline. Thanks for you help.
