Hi,
I have a Windows 2000 Professional desktop with two disk partitions. One partition is known as C: (5GB) and the other is mounted to C: as Program Files2 (15GB).
I would like to be able to make the C: partition the Operating System disk and then store all other products to \Program Files2. I need to migrate the existing \Program Files directory into \Program Files2 to make better use of the space and have one place to install and use programs from. This will also ensure that the boot partition (c:) will have enough space when/if I add further operating system files.
I know that I can probably use regedit and to a search and replace for \Program Files but I dont want to mess up the operating system in the process.
I triedto copy files from \Program Files to \Program files2 but there were some file locking problems. How can I avoid this? backup?
Any suggestions would be helpful.
Regards
Bloomy
