My PC has a windows 98. Since about a week ago I have never been able to normally start it with windows 98. Every time I tried, it would give me mprexe error saying that “MPREXE caused an invalid page fault in module kernel32.dll at 0177:bffb9168. “I searched thru the web and found quite a few mprexe errors and solutions. However, none of them worked for me. The one that seemed to have symptoms most similar to my case is the one that has damaged password file (.pwl files), it usually occurs atdifferent location in kernel32 though. However, I tried to rename all my .pwl files, and it didn’t work. So I am stuck with this “mprexe” error and can’t use my PC. I’d appreciate any information on the cause and the fix of this error.
