MS Access SendObject command won’t work

I’m developing a database using MS Access 2000 and am trying to send a report to our accounts department. The SendObject Command results in an error ‘The command isn’t available right now’. In the database window the File…Send to… command is disabled. I have MS Office fully installed and use MS Outlook as my mail program. Can anyone explain whats missing?
