MS-DOS support in WIndows Me

I have several clients still running MS-DOS software. We have just completed a client upgrade involving Windows Me on new systems they purchased. 1 application is MS-DOS based and requires a setting of Files=155. Windows Me as it stands has no config.sys support. We hacked the HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/MS-DOSOptions key and added a String FileSettings – config.sys – files=155, this worked. My concern is will this be stable, should I add a Flags and Order to the String, and if I do whatwould I put in each respectivily.
