MS Proxy Server 2.0

I cannot connect to the Internet using Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher using Microsoft Proxy Server 2.0 Web Proxy. I get the standard DNS error page, “the page cannot be displayed… cannot find server or DNS error”. Netscape and older versions ofIE connect just fine.

Here’s what happened. We were running Proxy Server 2.0 installed on an NT 4.0 SP5 server. Everything worked fine. We installed new software that required SP6 so we installed SP6. Now clients running IE 5.0 or higher cannot connect to the Internet through the Proxy server. There have been no other changes to the DNS settings or otherwise. We have been unable to find any post SP6 hot fixes that would solve our problem.
