msdos program printing

I have a user that has an old dos program she uses once a year and right now is the once a year time. How can I get a msdos program to print to a network printer? The OS is W2K and the printer is on nt and netware. Someone suggested capturing a printer to the lpt1 port but I don’t know how to do this.
