Multiple Domain NT issues

by trebligb . Updated 25 years ago

We are a remote site of a large corporation. Currently we have a local domain that everyone has an account in and a corporate domain where the exchange server resides. Currently we do not have a trust relationship between the domains. This has worked just fine up until recently because Outlook 2000 simply prompts the user to login using their corporate domain password when the start Outlook.

This is the problem, starting recently when users exit Outlook and try to get back in their corporate NT account is instantly locked out. This is really wierd because nobody has attempted to login, meaning some background process attempted to access the account with the wrong password multiple times.

They then have to contact the corporate help desk to get their account unlocked and all is well until they close Outlook again and the whole process starts over.

When they shut down Outlook for the night and log on in the morning it works fine, again until they close the software and attempt to get back in.

Anybody have any ideas what may be causing this?
