I have 2000 Advanced Server installed, with 2 NIC’s. I currently have a ‘domain’ to Telocity, my DSL provider straight from my router into one NIC. That works just fine. Now I want to set up an intranet, using my second NIC, which feeds a hub. Let’s call it foo.com I have set this up as a new ‘forest’, or domain, installed active directory, and that works internally, just fine, however when it is enabled , my DSL no longer resolves. Ping, tracert, nothing works on the internet. When I disable foo.com, my internet connection returns. I have made this server a domain controller for foo.com as well. Both domains show up on their appropriate interface, both in their properties and using the ipconfig command. This server is acting as a firewall(zone alarm) temporarily. My gateway setting for foo.com is the ‘internal’ NIC connected to my hub, and not my router because I would like to keep the two independent of each other, for the time being. My question is what isn’t configured properly? Must I make foo.com a leaf up from my telocity.com domain?
Now this type of configuration worked just fine with N.T. 4.0, I’m trying to troubleshoot what’s going on here. Much thanx in advance,
