Multiple Gateways

Under TCP/IP Properties, Advanced, there is a place to put multiple gateways in. My assumption is that if my address is not found in the first one, the second one will be checked, etc. This does not work.

Instead, the “Default Gateway” I choose is checked then the W2K gives up.

Is there a trick to this? Or perhaps my assumption on what this list is for is incorrect.
