Multiple installations of XP

hello,
I got the blaster virus, but before I knew what I had I was trying to correct it. SO I foolishly disabled the rpc service. Needless to say, I made a mess. I couldnt get the service restarted so i started a repair installation, but that failed with fatal errors. SO I did a new xp installation on the same drive just renaming it to windows2. That helped somewhat but I still got a mess. How can I either repair the original or copy password protected accounts over to the new installation? And once I got a “good” installation, either original or new one, how do I uninstall the other?
