Multiple .pwl password list files

Every time win98 is started, the login to windows dialog box is displayed with the default username. It says if no password is entered this screen won’t appear again, but it does. Also, seperate .pwl files are created each time, such as user.pwl, user000.pwl, user001.pwl, and so on.

Is there a way to stop this?
