MUP.Sys…xp pro hangs

Ok, so i’ve read a few posts on this topic, but what makes my situation different is that it is a fresh install of xp…sp1 haven’t even had a chance to install the various drivers and such…just gets stuck on the windows load screen, then in safe mode i noticed it gets stuck on mup.sys

changed some settings in bios, for some reason it had some settings to bypass loading certain drivers for a faster boot, put it to full load, then it loaded…but then when i reset, went straight into the desktop without going to login screen and the mouse and keyboard don’t respond (usb for both)..

when i say fresh install, i even did the full format of the drive…so i don’t know what it could be unless the install screwed up.
