My computer quits

Lately I have suffered from the following problem. I get the “blue screen of death” as my daughter calls it which says, ” An exception OE has occuerd at 0028:000113832 in VxD IFSMGER(01)+0000375A. This was called from 0028:C101C356 in V+D VTDI(01)+0000013A. It may be possible to continue normally prees any key to continue. Pres CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart your computer. You will lose any unsaved information in your applications. Press any key tp continue.” or simular message.
Sometimes pressing any will work, mostly it be not.
I am using Internet Explorer 5.5 with Bluelight (ISP).
Any ideas how I can fix it? I have done scandisk and reinstalled IE several times.
