The main screen showing all drives loads and refreshes very slowly. When another window is on top of it and is, in turn, minimized, that window will appear within the borders of the ‘My Computer’ window until it refreshes.
I do not have this problem when navigating to any drives or folders, only the main ‘My Computer’ window.
I have Diskeeper 9.0 installed, drive is drefragged, ran Spybot & AdAware, ran Norton Utilites WinDoctor, applied Spybot performance tweaks, uninstalled all USB devices within Device Manager, removed unneeded start menu programs.
Still the problem persists. WinXP, SP2, 1.3gHz p4, 512mb ram.
This computer has multiple user logins. Other logins do not experience the problem, only mine.
Would seem to be in the startup area. Nothing obvious. Not sure where to look next.
