How do I get updates to install when they do not recognize that I have IE5.5Sp2, at another web site, I found that someone else was having the same trouble with IE6 updates not recognize they have IE6?
Now the answer: Here is the method to get updates to install when they do not recognize that you are using the particular version of IE, either IE5.5SP2 or IE6:
Save the update to C: drive
Clilck Start, run, type in C:\updatename /n:v
Press OK
This will work for all such problem updates.
By the way Chas you weere right it is a form of file extraction.
