I am trying to host website on my private network(intranet). I have successfully installed and configured IIS. I have managed to create a website, and also I can excess it from another computer’s browser on the same network by keying in IP address of server, where my web page is stored. But if I try to access the website by typing a computer name, for some reason I can not access the website. I have tried adding host header name as my computer name, but it didn’t work. I messed around withDNS and that didn’t work as well. I think I need to work on the DNS side to resolve the naming issue. I don’t know how. I have forward and reverse lookup zone under my DNS server and it says active directory running. Do I need to create another entry in forward lookup zone to access the website by computer name? If so, how? Can somebody please explain me step by step how can I resolve this problem. Please HELP!! Thanks in advance.
