Need help with Exchange 2000

When trying to install Exchange 2000 I am getting 2 errors. They are the following:
Setup is unable to access Windows 2000 Active Directory.
Failed to contact the schema master server for the Active Directory forest.
I am logging on as the Adminfor the domain, so I know I have the appropriate permissions to do this. Can someone help with my problem?
