Need HELP with WIN2K Tape backup!!

We need help with configuring our tape backup in our WIN2K server.
I have followed the steps laid out in our technet support CD and have had no success.
I brought two other co workers in on it and the repeated the same exact steps with same results.
I am assigning a large point value to this question because of its importance to us.
When answering this question please be detail oriented because I believe that with our lack of experience with tape backups that we missed a small detail that was/was not documented.
