need to get into windows nt

I bought a laoptop from a ederly lady it is a toshiba portage 7100 it has no internal cd drive just usb port lan port pcmi ports nad under the side cover looks like scuzzy ports. she said it worked but she or her son can’t remeber the password. I turned it on it boots up to the windows password screen but won’t go any further what can I do to log onto this computer.
