Need W2K Pro Permissions Help

I’m having trouble configuring the file permissions/advanced permissions for a local user. Location: E:\Misc\WriteFolder\Appended_Document. The user needs to be able to add (append) new data to the original data without being able to (literally) read the data in the original document. Please help, this is sending me off the deep end. MS no help.
